Hi, I’m Alex,

After 30 years in senior HR and people development including coaching and mediation – and as someone who’s hard of hearing – I help organisations embed hearing-loss inclusion in day-to-day work, improving decisions, performance and working relationships.

Over 18 million adults in the UK are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus which is why I believe it makes sound commercial sense to embed hearing-loss inclusion into everyday ways of working. When customers and colleagues feel valued and that they belong, it leads to better customer engagement, stronger collaboration, and improved outcomes.

I focus on practical changes to communication, leadership habits, meeting design and ways of working that help people contribute fully to business strategy, while reducing risk, improving engagement and protecting reputation.

Customer Engagement

Approximately 1 in 3 adults in the UK are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus (RNID).

That’s a huge number of people affected who could be among your current and potential customers and who may struggle to engage with your products, services and communications.

Workforce

Around 20% of the workforce has hearing loss (RNID).

Not only does hearing loss increase with age but it’s linked to conditions like menopause and diabetes. It doubles the odds of stress, anxiety and depression, and over half affected report unfair treatment at work.

Leadership

About half of people aged 55+, roughly the same average age as senior executives, have some level of hearing loss. That matters if leaders can’t fully follow discussions or contribute with confidence, impacting strategic conversations and the quality of decision making.

We offer executive 1-2-1 coaching for executives who are navigating hearing loss whether it is life-long or new.
